ONEderland, ONEderland, ONEderful, ONEderful, ONEderland

Bet you couldn't possibly guess what happened at my weigh in today?  Well it started out like this, I was wandering lost in a dark and frightening evergreen glade (I know you might say do evergreens grow in glades? And your answer to that might be NO or it might be geez I have no idea the only Glades I can think of are in Florida and it doesn't seem like Evergreen territory).  Giant aside aside I was scared and alone and thinking will I ever find my way - when suddenly there it was - just a glimmer in the distance...

Okay so not really at all.  What it really went like is this.  I woke up and really wanted to drink my lemon water but waited until after I got on the scale.  I jumped on the computer for about 3 minutes, then I came out and fired up the Wii fit.  Stepped on and waited with baited breath for the little bar to stop going upward.  I breathed out a giant sigh of relief when I saw where it was and that it hadn't gone up again (because even though I work really hard on not letting the scale get to me - as you would know if you read many of my earlier posts - there are still those moments when you just can't help but almost hold your breath for them hoping for the scale to go down.  But I like to think that my reactions to whatever happens with the scale tend to be fairly thoughtful).  Giant aside aside again!  My little Wii fit rewarded me with a bunch of flowers for having reached my goal for the two weeks - but nevertheless continued to tell me I am obese (next target is getting that Wii BMI down to overweight - getting pretty close now).

So here are my ONEderland pictures.

And these jeans used to be tight on me!

No ONEderland for me this week

Not entirely surprising really.  I know if I am going to have a gain or a very small loss this is when it will happen
two weeks following a better type of gain.  Although it isn't a perfect pattern in my data it is one that I see looking like it is emerging (it wasn't there in the first few weeks, nor in the span when I was sick practically that whole month but the two months since then I have seen the pattern).  So I guess next time around I will be trying to see if I can avoid my small gain week to at least keep the same and maybe just have a tiny loss.  Oh well my planned out ONEderland picture will just have to wait a week I guess!

The Heavy Feet of Summer

Oddly it seems like since we have had summer style weather my workouts have dwindled.  I think it comes down to bedtimes.  It seems to me it is at least minutely easier to get to bed at a reasonable hour in the winter when there is dark.  But right now with it being light until pretty late I am finding bed time a little harder even than normal.

So perhaps it is time to set myself a mini goal of getting to a regular 10:30 bedtime so I can get up at a decent time in the morning - giving me a chance to do a bit of a workout.  I am loving my pilates a lot lately so perhaps it would be smart for me to just do my short pilates video workout in the mornings.  I wanted to get some variety in but maybe sometimes it is just a good idea to stick with what you are loving for a little while - especially when it feels a bit more challenging to do it at all.  So lets see if I can get that video pilates session done each morning when I don't have an actual pilates class.

Absolutely Absothighglutely

So after my pilates equipment class today I coined a new phrase absothighglutely.  It is like Absolutely, except that it is absolutely abs, thighs and glutes ;-).  The class today was incredible!  It worked my legs, butt and abs not to mention my arms in a really significant way.  All I can say is that anyone who has even the smallest inclination to give pilates a try - consider doing it at Lead Pilates (http://leadpilates.com/) and after you have gotten started with mat classes, get your behind onto the equipment.  The workout is just lovely and incredible in a way I can't express.  If I could only have one workout a week this is the one I would pick (at least for 80% of the weeks, the other 20% of the weeks I would do mat class).

Strange Stats

So I can't quite figure out what is going on - seems like there is a lot more traffic here on my blog lately.  So to anyone who might actually be reading this I say a big HELLO!  It is odd to think that perhaps there are a few people stopping by semi regular even.  But the odd thing is the number of stats that appear to be coming from all kinds of different places in the world - so tell me are there actual people out there looking at my blog in places like Singapore?  I would love to know, I would love to hear from you if there are (although I must admit I often think it must just be some kind of automated bot program that got here somehow LOL).

Well for anyone real looking at my blog - come back soon I am (thanks to a suggestion by a great lady on the WW boards) going to do a ONEderland picture when I hit it - I feel like I will try to do something different with it but I am not sure what yet.  Hopefully it will be next Saturday but it might be longer.

ONEderland in site - can almost taste it

I am now very close to saying good-bye to the 200's forever!  Just 0.6 of a pound away now.  So that will be a great milestone to reach!  I am looking forward to it and I am tasting forward to it.  I really wonder where the saying "I can almost taste it" or the saying "the sweet taste of victory" come from.  There are a few different types of sayings linking success and taste.  So I thought I would like to explore that idea a little bit.

The taste I am associating with this first really big goal (the 199 mark) is the taste of fresh ripe cherries that are nice an firm and crunch when you bite into them.  A great summertime taste to go with the accomplishment of this goal!  I also want to add another taste and that is the taste of a refreshing cool glass of water after a great pilates class.  Both of those tastes are the tastes of victory at getting to my current goal. Think I might have to set some new ones once I am shooting for the next goal after that (50 pounds).

Now for a few tastes I am definitely not going to associate with this - the overly sweet ice cream I had last night - and am just thinking of who I could give the rest of the container to so it is out of the house since I didn't enjoy it that much and I would really like to avoid that thing where I eat things I don't really like that much.  It is also not the taste of cheezies which I really wanted last night but couldn't find one of those really small size bags of them - so I didn't have them.  I suspect I would eat one of them and just find them hideous anyway so I am not sure why I want to have them.

Well I think it is a good time for a walk - maybe see if I can go over and be crazy aunty to my nephews ;-)

My Million Dollar Butt

So back many years ago now my aunt offered me a million dollars for my butt.  It was in pretty good shape in those days.  Well unfortunately a few years later when I went to collect because obviously someone else now had my million dollar butt - she wouldn't pay up.  So I was forced to realize that I had given away my million dollar butt for a bag of chips and container of dip (well in reality many of them) and a comfy spot on the couch traded in for my roller blades.

But fantastic news - I am confident that I will get my million dollar butt back and without any need to pay one million dollars for it.  Instead I am going to pay for it with a big jug of water, a crisp fresh apple, a bag of spinach, a walk to and from work, and a pilates class traded in for that comfy spot on the couch.

Jolk or Wog

So I don't know which one to go with Jog/Walk as Jolk or Wog.  I figure since I think I actually did more of the planned jog as jogging than walking that I will go with Jolk.

Now can you believe it - I am not at all sure I can, I chose to jog today.  I wanted to do something different than my standard routines, and jogging is something I haven't done in a very, very, very long time.  So I figured out a 1 km route (and I know people who run probably would laugh at that distance but hey it is a start!).  And I went out and did it.  I figure I jogged around 60 or 70 percent of the 1km and then did my planned walk home.  I actually think I am going to consider working on this once a week or so for the next little while to see if I can build up to jogging the full 1km.  I don't know how long it will take me to get to that stage but I suspect it will be a while.  But it is all good and I look forward to having a new challenge in front of me.

Beginning of the month pictures

The last couple of months I keep expecting to see no real change in my picture.  But I can still see the changes happening.  They are more subtle now than they were in the first few months but they are still there - at least I see them, not sure that anyone else will.  So the big thing I saw this month is just a tiny peek through of light between my thighs just above my knees.  It might simply be the way I am standing but I know I have really been seeing the reformation of muscles in my thighs lately so I choose to believe it is the start of some serious leg transformation action!  And I am very happy to see the continued flattening of my abdomen.

Well here it is for your consideration.  Click the picture to see the full sized version of it.
